Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire (February 27, 2010 (February 27, 2010) Toronto ON). Pointe Claire is a quiet community which is situated in the West Island, which is part of the Montreal island. Many people who don't know they mistakenly believe"the" West Island extends westward from Montreal. However this is not the case. West Island includes everything westward of the city of Lachine. Amanda Brugel is said to be born on the West Island. This isn't the case. Brugel began her life in Courtice close to Oshawa. She was determined to become a professional dancer, but due to her rapid growth spurt she outgrew all of her dancing friends. In an article published by The Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall while wearing heels. When I outgrew my male friends, I quit. Many former dancers turn into acting and Brugel was no exception. The drama instructor at her high school encouraged to Brugel into her direction that she required. It was the teacher who recommended she try her hand at a character in the annual school production. After some trial and error the role, she was chosen as the main character on stage in Anne of Green Gables. The show led her to receive the award of a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship at York University where she attended the Theater Program and earned A Bachelor in Fine Arts degree in 2000. For the last two decades, Brugel's career has seen her appear in over 60 shows and films. The most well-known role was the one of Rita (shown in the video below) on The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel is the only Canadian actor on the show in the season 1 and only appeared in a few episodes.
