Anna Gunn
Anna Gunn was born in the United States. She is best known for her role as Skyler White on The AMC drama series Breaking Bad for which she received the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting actor in a Drama Series in 2013 and 2014. Her other appearances are Jean Ward in The Practice and Martha Bullock from Deadwood. Anna Gunn began acting as a child at Sante Fe New Mexico. After that, her family relocated to Ohio and she continued her love of the theatre. She was a student at Northwestern University to study theatre and also spent time at the British American Drama Academy. Anna performed in Chicago's theater for many years prior to attempting TV and movie roles. Anna was selected to portray Arden on Down the Shore in the 29-episode series Down the Shore. Anna continued to appear in movies as well as TV shows such Seinfeld, NYPD Blue and others up to the late 1990's. She was then selected for The Practice as Jean Ward. Martha Bullock was her role in Deadwood for two seasons. In 2008 she was cast as Skyler on Breaking Bad. Sully as well as Deadwood was a different film that she was a part of. Gunn played a role in the David Schwimmer directed the film Sex With Strangers. She also appeared in the audio drama podcast series of four parts Numbered days, which was launched in 2022. The love story between Walter White and his wife Skyler is often the backbone of the narrative on Breaking Bad with the strained tension in their relationship, and the eventual end of their relationship echoing the same storyline of Walter White's final years of his life.
